Our story
In 2016, Alexis ran into a friend whose mom was facing a post-fire fallout, which forced her to stay in a pricey and uncomfortable hotel. Touched by the misfortune, Alexis offered her to stay at a friend’s cozy home instead. This caring idea sparked something big.
Inspired by the difference better housing could make, Alexis founded Sinistar with a mission to offer diverse, high-quality, and homelike solutions for those in similar situations. Since then, with a community of hosts offering over 70,000 furnished accommodations, we have helped claim adjusters relocate over 8,000 displaced policyholders across Canada and beyond.
